26 April 2007 - 20 May 2007

2 and 3D works, painted and drawn

R O O M T O O is showing Chris Barr at FOUND GALLERY 68 Great Eastern St, London EC2 3JT. (Old st tube, corner Garden Walk)

Chris Barr's work comes out of an intense grappling with language, making reference to the status of paintings or hybrids as craft objects. Augury concerns the taking and interpreting of signs from nature and the embodiment of omens and auspices in the behaviour of birds. Birds represent very fleeting experiences - here one minute, gone the next........

Chris Barr was in Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2003, has had a solo exhibition at Firstsite Colchester and has been in shows in the whitechapel project Space, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Leipzig and Bristol. He has completed three artist's residencies in Germany and the UK. This is his first solo exhbition in London.

Curated by Sandie Macrae

The exhibition opens on Thursday 26 April from 6 - 8 pm

It will be open Friday - Sunday 12 - 6 pm or by appointment
