Based in Bristol, Éilis Kirby is the sole proprietor of EAK Enterprises. Her intelligently playful approach belies a profound underpinning of ideas drawing together the visual, literature and the spoken word. Her research has involved working with mathematicians, social scientists, museum curators and a theatre company.
EAK Enterprises is an umbrella organisation encompassing a cluster of independent, diverse, yet fundamentally linked projects and concerns whose activities range from publishing and public engagement events, to postcard production and the arrangement of things, with an emphasis on innovation, experimentation and a lightness of touch, and all intended to call our attention to the world around us.
From the poetic to the pragmatic, the imaginative to the instructive and the intangible to the informational, EAK is intent on bringing a fresh eye to the everyday, the overlooked and the discarded. Its ambition being the promotion of a more questioning and thoughtful approach to living, and an increased sensitivity to the things that surround us through stimulation of the brain and disruption of fixed lines of thought.
Éilis is in the Roaming Room space to develop a new work, culminating in a three day exhibition.
Opening on Thursday 6-8pm
